Weather back to normal ??????????

We started out Spring way early in the high 80's then the bottom fell out and now it's back to normal. Dropped from 91 to 48 with storms and heavy rain then overcast with fog the next day. Today pretty with a slight breeze and 58o what you might call damn cool outside.

First mowing 2012

Got the first mowing of 2012 under my belt, but it was just around the house and barn, took about 2 hours. Still got the 1/4 mile section from the house to HH highway beside the driveway. The grass was about 8 inch's tall and thick, give the mower a workout. Glad I got on it before it got any higher and thicker. Guess I will start building the garage door wall closure tomorrow. Got all the 2X8's ripped to the correct width of 7 inch's. 124 feet of ripping off 5/8 of an inch, just so I could make the exterior plywood wall flush with the existing wall's. Enough for one day.

Time for a catch up

Well here it is March 30 2012, figured I might as well make a post as it has been 3 months. Not much going on here at the farm, hunting is over for the year and we have an early Spring been in the 70's and 80's for the last 3 weeks. Cleaned out the wood heater and summerized it. In the process of closing in the garage door with a wall. Been fishing a few times but didn't have much luck in the pond only caught 1 bass and 1 blue gill so far on plugs and beatle spins, looks like it is going to be another year of using minnows, the fish seem to bite better on them in my pond. Last time out got my first tick of the year, they never caused any problems before, but this one made a whelp and for the next 2 days there was a large pinkish red circle area around the bite and it was kinda sore. Today is the 4 day all the redness is gone except just for the bite area. All the tree's are leafed out with new leaves and the grass is growing like crazy. The pastures are looking real green except for the dead header grass standups. Got a lot of mowing and brush hogging to do.

Here's Saturday

Well this month is well on the way to being over. Still not much of a winter except for the cold. Sure glad for the outside wood heater and lots of wood. Still learning about my GPS finally got my "US Navagation and Topo maps loaded into it and found out how to switch between the two. There is more to the operation of the GPS that I thought. Its a challange but fun to mess with. Got to remember to Save, Save, Save those waypoints, routes and tracks in the right folders on the computer.

“”THE DEER LIVE””

I have finished up huntin for the 2011 seasons “”THE DEER LIVE”” The final day of our Missouri Blackpowder was almost a perfect day for huntin. Notice I said “ALMOST” it would have been “PERFECT” if the deer had been moving. Oh well there’s always next year.
